A MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE FROM
THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN GUYANA

God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. And so we need not fear even if the world blows up, and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam; let the mountains tremble!
There is a river of joy flowing through the City of our God-the sacred home of the God above all gods. God himself is living in that City; therefore it stands unmoved despite the turmoil everywhere. He will not delay his help. (Psalm 46:1 - 5)

The Executive Council of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana(E.L.C.G.) extends its deep sympathy and prayerful support to the American people at this time of great pain and severe loss. The E.L.C.G lifts up the American people before God in prayers committing them to his strong arm and loving care.

The E.L.C.G. condemns in strongest terms the wanton destruction to lives and property and the visitation of unimaginable grief upon innocent people.

Such barbaric actions as that unleashed against innocent lives have no place in a civilised world.
The E.L.C.G is confident that the American people resilient and resolute in spirit as they are, will rise above this disaster to emerge as a stronger and more cohesive people.

Roy K. Thakurdyal(Rev)
