On the 11th Day of September, 2001, the World Trade Center in New York and part of the Pentagon building in Washington were destroyed in a terrorist attack. Help for People from the Caribbean in the New York Area
The Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc., was formed in 1982 to
respond to the problems which affect immigrants, including lack of access
to health care, dealing with the bureaucracy, victimization and
exploitation. The organization works at helping with the procurement of
basic needs such as securing food, shelter and health care. It also
conducts relevant education and advocacy programs. CWHA
operates four service centers which provide services to thousands of
deserving people.
